Snelling Avenue

Midway is now a rapidly-densifying corridor thanks to the introduction of rapid transit. However, the Green Line's low speed and low capacity makes end-to-end travel impractical. Its greatest value is shorter trips; that is ultimately what's driving transit-oriented development along University Avenue.

Snelling is an ideal connection point due to its equidistance between Minneapolis and St. Paul. The Green Line and the A Line (in addition to local bus routes) would feed into a heavy rail station just south of Allianz Field, allowing Midway residents faster access to both downtowns. Regional routes could run matchday trains to the stadium, much like the Northstar does for Twins games.
